Overall Job Summary

The Manager Trainee is responsible for learning the duties of the Store Manager position and developing the skills required for a Store Manager role. Primary duties include delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, building the team, driving sales, managing inventory, profit, and sales, controlling expenses, and reducing shrink.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Recruit, hire, develop, evaluate, discipline, and retain efficient team members.
2. Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet, Uncover needs, Recommend solutions, Add value, and Appreciate the customer.
3. Create a welcoming environment promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
4. Schedule and organize daily activities for store efficiency.
5. Lead team to ensure a memorable shopping experience.
6. Communicate policies and evaluate processes for effectiveness.
7. Foster a positive work environment through promotions, recognition, and empowerment.
8. Handle problem-solving and conflict resolution.
9. Learn sales and profit management to achieve financial goals.
10. Promote safety and manage merchandise flow and inventory controls.
11. Organize merchandise resets and ensure presentation standards.
12. Evaluate the competitive environment and coordinate with teams to ensure quality.
13. Manage paperwork, including invoices, schedules, and reports.
14. Forecast sales, analyze payroll, and review budgets.
15. Coordinate special sales events and support district issues.
16. Develop team members for advancement.
17. Assist with budgeting and store audits.

Minimum Qualifications

Retail or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding experience preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus. Must be at least 18 with a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Valid driver’s license for company driving.
• Proficiency with POS and inventory systems.
• Ability to read, write, count, and operate store equipment.
• Willingness to work varied hours, including weekends, and travel as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Standard office conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
