Responsibilities
- Oversee store operations to ensure maximum sales and profitability, including customer service, merchandising, inventory, expense control, personnel management, and managing operating costs and shrinkage.
- Perform duties safely, adhering to store safety policies and procedures.
- Lead and develop employees, understanding each as an individual, and create action plans for store opportunities.
- Maintain high customer care standards by providing a friendly, respectful environment with quick service.
- Monitor store quality, cleanliness, stock levels, sales growth, and profitability, taking actions to improve performance.
- Manage work schedules to ensure excellent customer service.
- Implement marketing and sales plans to meet or exceed budgets.
- Control shrinkage, expenses, and payroll.
- Participate in weekly store director calls and support loss prevention efforts.
- Maintain a regular housekeeping program.
- Address performance issues and recruit as needed.
- Manage staff recruitment, performance appraisals, counseling, and training.
- Engage in training to enhance skills and store processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of retail experience in grocery, drug, or convenience stores.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and industry knowledge.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate merchant mentality.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and integrity-driven.
- Customer-focused with good math, time management, and safety awareness.
Physical Demands
- Moderate physical effort, including prolonged standing or sitting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs consistently.
