Position Description

The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, driving sales, managing staff, and ensuring that the store provides an excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for retail management, and a commitment to achieving store goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Store Operations:
   • Oversee all daily store operations, ensuring efficient and effective execution of policies and procedures.
   • Ensure the store is well-stocked, organized, clean, and fully operational at all times.
   • Monitor store performance and address any operational issues that may arise.
   • Ensure compliance with all local health, safety, and regulatory standards.
2. Sales & Profitability:
   • Drive store sales and customer satisfaction through promotional campaigns and product displays.
   • Analyze sales trends and performance reports to identify growth opportunities.
   • Work toward achieving and exceeding sales and profit targets.
   • Monitor expenses and manage the store’s budget to ensure profitability.
3. Customer Service:
   • Create a customer-first culture; handle complaints and resolve issues.
   • Implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and retention.
   • Regularly assess and improve customer service standards.
4. Staff Management & Development:
   • Recruit, hire, and train store staff.
   • Manage, coach, and develop employees; be on call during business hours, nights, and weekends.
   • Create employee schedules, manage payroll, and conduct performance evaluations.
   • Foster a positive work environment to maximize team performance and reduce turnover.
5. Inventory & Merchandising:
   • Manage inventory levels; oversee ordering, receiving, and restocking.
   • Conduct inventory audits and stock counts.
   • Ensure proper product rotation and shelf organization.
6. Financial Management:
   • Handle cash management, prepare financial reports, and oversee purchase orders.
   • Analyze financial data for cost savings and profitability improvements.
7. Marketing & Community Engagement:
   • Implement in-store promotions and marketing activities.
   • Build relationships with customers and the community.
   • Respond to online reviews and customer feedback.
8. Health, Safety & Compliance:
   • Ensure store compliance with policies and regulations.
   • Perform store audits and implement security measures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years retail or convenience store management experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience managing budgets and analyzing financial reports.
• Proficient in POS systems, inventory management software, and MS Office.
• High school diploma required; degree in business or related field preferred.
• Valid State Driver's License.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in cold environments. Must be flexible to work outside regular hours, including nights, weekends, and seasonal snow removal. Ability to work alone and handle emergency situations is essential.
