About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You will analyze sales data, follow up on results, and develop plans to optimize performance and profits.


A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same. A typical day includes the following responsibilities:

Customer Sales & Profit

  • Manage the total omni customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial presentation aligns with guidelines and strategies.
  • Represent the H&M brand positively during all customer interactions.
  • Set, analyze, and follow up on sales and budget goals, creating plans to meet targets.
  • Provide excellent personal customer service, guiding customers through fashion stories and actively selling products.
  • Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in-store sustainability initiatives.
  • Plan staffing according to sales budgets and activities.
  • Ensure routines in fitting rooms and checkouts are followed, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
  • Identify commercial opportunities by understanding store strengths and competitors.
  • Manage store maintenance efficiently.
  • Handle administrative routines for people and operations correctly.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

  • Stay updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers.
  • Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge to customers.
  • Understand the local market, customer base, and fashion trends.

Team & Development

  • Manage talent recruitment, onboarding, upskilling, and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Share knowledge and skills with your team.
  • Collaborate with the area team and store leadership, including VMs.
  • Maintain effective communication and professionalism.
  • Plan and schedule team work hours.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to motivate and inform.
  • Ensure procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements are followed.
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs.

Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution

  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor and back of house.
  • Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation, with proper garment care.
  • Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation.
  • Support daily opening and closing routines.
  • Manage the full garment cycle and fitting room routines according to standards.
  • Utilize in-store tech services and tools effectively.
  • Maintain accurate price signage following guidelines.
  • Keep BOH areas tidy and informative, ensuring safety and security.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with a responsibility-driven approach.
  • Effective team coaching and development abilities.
  • Ambitious, good communicator, analytical, and comfortable with numbers and statistics.
  • Relevant leadership experience in retail management and operations.
  • Experience working closely with a team.

Additional Information

Expected base salary range: $65,397.21 - $76,187.75 annually.
