About the Role

As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to the store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll analyze sales and follow up on results, creating plans to optimize profits.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial presentation according to store format, global guidelines, and regional strategies.
  • Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during all customer interactions.
  • Establish, analyze, and follow up on sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results.
  • Provide personal customer service, guiding customers through fashion stories and actively selling products.
  • Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in-store sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage scheduling to align with sales budgets and activities.
  • Ensure routines in fitting rooms and checkout are followed, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
  • Identify and act on commercial opportunities, maintaining competitor awareness.
  • Oversee store maintenance cost-efficiently.
  • Handle administrative routines for people and operations correctly.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

  • Stay updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers.
  • Ensure the team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.
  • Understand the local market, customer base, and fashion trends.

Team & Development

  • Manage talent and performance, including recruiting, onboarding, and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Share knowledge and skills with the team.
  • Collaborate with Area and store leadership teams.
  • Maintain excellent communication and professionalism.
  • Plan and schedule team activities.
  • Communicate regularly to motivate and inform staff.
  • Ensure procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements are followed.
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs.

Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution

  • Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house.
  • Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation.
  • Manage stock levels and provide input on allocation.
  • Support daily store routines like opening and closing.
  • Ensure the full garment cycle and fitting routines meet standards.
  • Maintain in-store OMNI services and tech tools.
  • Keep price signs updated and consistent.
  • Maintain BOH areas with key information, safety, and tidiness.

  • Strong leadership skills with responsibility for others.
  • Confident in coaching, development, and communication.
  • Experience in a leadership role relevant to this position.
  • Retail management and operations experience.
  • Ability to work closely with a team.

Additional Information

Compensation: $65,397.21 - $76,187.75 annually
