Job description

Purpose of Position: Direct the day-to-day operation of an assigned Par Mar Store in a manner which exceeds Company Goals and Expectations of Total Quality Service to our Guests. Direct and maintain the store in a manner which is above and beyond Par Mar Stores Image Standards. The Store Manager is the primary person of responsibility, providing support and guidance to the employees to ensure the best customer service.

  1. Availability: The Store Manager must be available at all times to react to emergencies, customer concerns and any incidents that occur at the location. If not physically present, they must be reachable by phone. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when training a new Assistant Manager is required.
  2. Driving on Company Business: Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for any vehicle used for company duties. A signed “Statement of Understanding” recognizing these requirements is mandatory.
  3. Safety: Enforce all safety measures to protect assets, employees, and Guests. Report injuries immediately with proper documentation.
  4. Guests: Greet each Guest appropriately, ensure high standards of Guest satisfaction, and address complaints promptly and professionally.
  5. Image: Maintain a professional store atmosphere, address dress code infractions immediately, and ensure exterior and interior cleanliness and orderliness daily.
  6. Training: Complete ongoing training, train employees effectively, and utilize the “Manager’s Redbook” for daily operations.
  7. Employee Development: Set and review employee goals, promote from within, and support career growth.
  8. Compliance: Adhere to all laws, policies, and regulations, including those related to smoking, alcohol, and tobacco sales.
  9. Loss Prevention: Follow policies to minimize theft and inventory loss, and investigate discrepancies.
  10. Promotions and Community Engagement: Support store promotions and participate in community events to foster goodwill.
  11. Food Service: Oversee food service operations, ensure compliance with health regulations, and maintain quality standards.
  12. Merchandise and Vendor Management: Properly receive merchandise, follow vendor procedures, and safeguard company assets.

Requirements:

Physical and Mental Functions: Ability to stand for long hours, lift up to 50 pounds, work in cold environments, climb ladders, reach, bend, handle various products, and use safety equipment. Corrected hearing and vision are required, along with the ability to react calmly in emergencies. Must not be impaired by drugs or alcohol.

Driving: Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
