Location: The Mills at Jersey Gardens – Elizabeth, NJ
Role Overview
As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, including sales, customer service, staff management, inventory management, and visual merchandising. You will play a key role in driving sales, fostering a positive shopping experience for our customers, and maintaining the brand's image and standards. More than anything else, you will act as a brand ambassador, representing the value of the brand.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Service:
- Drive sales and consistently meet or exceed sales targets through effective sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of repeat customers through proactive engagement, including in-store events, promotions, and personalized outreach.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, addressing inquiries and concerns, and ensuring a memorable shopping experience.
- Foster a customer-centric environment by building relationships with customers and providing personalized recommendations based on their preferences and needs.
- Regularly exceeds store KPIs through customer engagement, leadership, and operational excellence.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing retail team to deliver excellent service and achieve sales goals.
- Schedule staff effectively to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service abilities.
Inventory Management
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize out-of-stock situations.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and coordinate with headquarters to replenish stock as needed.
- Implement strategies to minimize shrinkage and loss prevention.
Visual Merchandising
- Maintain the store's visual standards by ensuring that displays, signage, and product presentations are in line with brand guidelines.
- Implement creative merchandising techniques to showcase product assortments and highlight key collections.
- Regularly refresh displays and window presentations to attract customers and drive sales.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security protocols.
- Collaborate with headquarters on marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events to drive traffic and increase sales.
- Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and functionality at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous retail management experience required, preferably in the fashion or lifestyle retail sector. Outlet or high-volume environment is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving results.
- Proficiency in inventory management and retail operations.
- Creative flair and passion for design, fashion and art.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Salary Range : $75-85K
