Job description

The role of the Store Manager will take full ownership of the store, keeping operations running brilliantly from stock to service standards while using sound commercial judgement to create a delightful customer experience and strong, steady business results.

Role Responsibilities:
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
  • Manage the operations, day-to-day, sales, compliance with all operating guidelines, ensuring the achievement of set income and profit targets
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy and ownership, making day-to-day commercial, operational, and people decisions in alignment with business strategy and company culture
  • Drive and maximize sales performance to consistently achieve the overall sales budget objectives while ensuring operational integrity and monitoring monthly profitability
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, proactively identifying opportunities to improve store performance, customer experience, and local market execution
  • Analyze monthly store performance and report current trends to cover every aspect of the business including competitor performance
  • Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role on the sales floor through customer engagement, ensuring the highest level of customer service is provided and annual mystery shop goals are met
  • Manage and support stock levels through direct communication with key business departments to maximize full-price selling, maintain a high sell-through as well as align with new product launches
  • Train and communicate current collection knowledge to all associates to ensure the team is fully educated on brand pillars and season strategy and partner with the appropriate internal departments for product support
  • Actively build and leverage partnerships with Home Office and US Distribution Center teams, stakeholders, and external partners to obtain support, share insights, and resolve issues effectively
  • Balance independence with accountability, ensuring decisions align with brand standards, financial targets, and broader business strategy
STORE OPERATIONS
  • Oversee the processing of daily incoming and outbound merchandise requests and shipments
  • Provide accurate monthly schedules by analyzing peak hours to ensure adequate floor coverage and timely submission of payroll records for all employees
  • Support and maintain visual merchandising standards set by the brand guidelines
  • Ensure merchandise is prepared, displayed and ready for sale in accordance with brand guidelines
  • Develop and communicate retail related policies and procedures in coordination with the Head Office Retail team
  • Control and supervise order quantities, inventory results and sales preparations
  • Exercise strong judgement in seeking guidance, recognizing situations that require alignment, escalation, or specialist input
CUSTOMER FOCUS
  • Promote brand awareness, establish market/store presence, and capture competitive market share through community outreach and company sponsored events
  • Lead the team by example executing superior customer service and after sales experience to increase and retain customer loyalty
  • Monitor monthly CRM database reporting to ensure the capture of meaningful customer data for the purpose of building relationships to personalize future client development opportunities
  • Follow up on KPI’s, customer experience and journey
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of retail management and operational experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and accountability, with the ability to act confidently as the primary onsite decision maker
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review sales reports, identify business trends, and respond quickly to the needs of the business
  • Track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences that build brand loyalty and drive measurable results
  • Solid business acumen with awareness of industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Passion for the fashion industry and enthusiasm for the brand, including an appreciation of its British heritage and design aesthetic
  • Ability to operate effectively under remote leadership while maintaining strong communication and execution standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams
  • Highly organized and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive performance, and maintain accountability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with Shopify POS ideal
  • Flexibility to work a retail management schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional off-hours as needed
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 50lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching and other physical movements required for stocking, organizing and visual merchandising
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to hang and fold garments, attach tags, and operate POS system, as well as perform other tasks requiring fine motor skills and attention to detail
