Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking a Management Trainee to join our neighborhood stores across the western United States. This entry-level role is designed to be transitory for 6-18 months with a structured training program aimed at promoting to higher management positions.

You will learn through hands-on leadership and guidance from experienced staff while supporting daily store operations. The role emphasizes customer service, sales growth, and merchandise management in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store.
• Drive sales and respond to customer inquiries.
• Direct oversight of footwear and advertising programs, and other departments.
• Merchandising and compliance with company policies.
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures.
• Train newly hired associates and supervise sales staff.
• Inventory control and loss prevention enforcement.
