Job summary

ShopRite of Southbury is seeking a Maintenance (Grade A) associate to deliver friendly, efficient service and perform store-wide janitorial tasks. The role supports a clean, safe shopping environment and assists with routine maintenance per Store Management directions.

Core duties include cleaning, trash removal, bathroom sanitation, and floor care, with emphasis on safety, presentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English proficiently.
• Able to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Able to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Able to interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Able to work cooperatively with others.
• Adhere to time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and janitorial duties throughout the store as directed by Store Management.
• Empty trash and recycling containers as prescribed by Store Management.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms; replenish paper and soap supplies.
• Clean floors (mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax, buff or vacuum) as required.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work/shopping environment.
• Follow safety requirements and security standards at all times.
