Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Columbus, Indiana is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, supervise associates, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

This role requires strong communication and the ability to lead a high-energy team in a busy retail setting. Experience in retail leadership is preferred and you will be involved in opening/closing procedures, scheduling, and loss prevention

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Outstanding customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and reporting.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits & receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures; ensure associates follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable (bathrooms, floors, trash, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
