Job summary

Deseret Book Company in Riverton, UT is seeking a store manager to lead daily operations and drive sales while upholding the Deseret Book brand voice. You will oversee training, customer service, merchandising, promotions, and budgeting, with a focus on community outreach and maintaining a world-class shopping experience.

This role requires leadership, a relevant degree or equivalent experience, and a willingness to work varied shifts including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of retail supervisory experience.
• Proven sales, merchandising and customer service abilities.
• Strong leadership and self-management skills.
• Willingness to work a schedule including evenings and Saturdays and to exceed 40 hours/week.
• Knowledge of LDS-oriented books and merchandise preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a store environment that provides customers with world-class customer service experience.
• Ensure excellent delivery of merchandise and services.
• Reach sales goals through promotions, advertising, and display plans.
• Achieve financial objectives (revenue and expenses) within annual budgets.
• Lead recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management to develop a brand-aligned team.
• Maintain the store excellence checklist weekly with your team.
• Grow the local customer base through outreach marketing.
