Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store manager to oversee the daily operations of a retail location in Georgia. The role involves leading staff, implementing store processes, managing staffing, inventory, and customer service to achieve sales and service goals.

You will recruit and train employees, conduct performance evaluations, ensure compliance with labor laws, and maintain a safe, well‑organized store environment. Prior retail management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred for some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps or termination if needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; lead meetings.
• Open and close the store at required frequencies.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and control expenses.
• Manage ordering, stock planning, and cycle counts; ensure inventory accuracy.
• Present merchandise according to standards and maintain cash control.
