Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a Key Carrier at HomeGoods to support store operations and lead in the absence of a Manager on Duty. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, driving teamwork, and maintaining openings/closings per company guidelines.

The candidate should have strong communication, the ability to coach Associates, and open availability including nights and weekends. This role builds leadership experience within a dynamic, off-price retail environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail experience and 6 months leadership experience.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Capable of multi-tasking and coaching others.

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience.
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality.
• Acts as Manager on Duty adhering to company policy and procedure.
• Ensures store team performs tasks and activities in accordance with store plan; prioritizes as needed.
• Addresses immediate customer service issues and provides appropriate coaching to Associates.
• Exercises discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers.
• Maintains accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience.
• Ensures Associates adhere to all operational procedures.
• Ensures opening/closing procedures are executed according to company guidelines.
• Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates.
• Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback.
• Provides feedback, recognition and coaching to Associates.
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs.
• Supports and participates in shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment.
• Other duties as assigned
