Job summary

Dollar Tree in Marion, IA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise transfers, and help supervise store staff to maintain a clean, safe environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, store management experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and reading operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties as described.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain promotional displays and ensure store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and train/store associates accordingly.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
