Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead store operations, staffing, and customer service. You will oversee hiring, training, performance evaluations and adherence to policies, while ensuring security and safety across shifts.

Responsibilities include inventory control, merchandising, scheduling, and maintaining store standards. Strong communication, organizational skills and retail experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish may be preferred at certain store locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees in line with laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations and address performance gaps.
• Recommend pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings.
• Ensure proper staffing and opening/closing procedures several times weekly.
• Monitor sales, profitability, inventory and shrink; adjust plans as needed.
• Manage stock plans, cycle counts and replenishment.
• Oversee merchandising, pricing and signage per standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash controls; uphold security procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available; comply with SOPs and deadlines.
