Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Store Manager to oversee daily operations, including scheduling, customer service, merchandising, inventory, and safety. You will lead and develop store employees, drive sales with commercial and retail customers, and partner with sales reps to expand market share.

The role focuses on profitable store performance in a competitive market. Typical schedule is 48 hours per week, with evenings and weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
• Minimum 1 year in retail, sales, or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develop business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability.
• Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to store employees.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations.
• Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
• Complete store administration.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security.
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards, including promotional packages and sales floor displays.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting as required.
• Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action.
• Respond to and resolve any customer and/or employee complaints.
• Partner with Sales Reps to make outside sales calls to increase market share.
