Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to lead all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and presenting merchandise. You will recruit and train staff, evaluate performance, and ensure compliance with safety and cash control policies.

Responsibilities include daily opening/closing, planning inventory, optimizing stock levels, and driving sales while delivering superior customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, address gaps or counseling up to termination.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open/close store consistently, at least twice weekly each.
• Evaluate statements for trends; control expenses and shrinkage.
• Manage stock planning, ordering, and cycle counts weekly.
• Stage, stock, and store merchandise per company processes.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and signage.
• Maintain inventory levels and cash controls; ensure security.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership; maintain a safe environment.
