Job summary

Barnes & Noble, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations at our Kansas City location. You will supervise staff, drive sales, and ensure a welcoming bookstore environment for customers and the community.

You will coach team members, manage merchandising, and collaborate with the Inventory Cluster Support to maintain balanced stock and promotions. The ASM will model excellent service and help achieve store objectives while maintaining standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a retail team and delivering service standards.
• Ability to supervise operations, stock, and front-of-store presentation.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Experience with merchandising, promotions, and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team to meet sales goals and service standards.
• Oversee front-of-store and displays, and ensure timely stock replenishment.
