Job summary

Barnes & Noble, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Maplewood, MN to lead the bookstore team and ensure smooth daily operations. You will drive sales, manage rosters, and maintain presentation standards across the front of store and non-book sections.

You will foster a culture of service, accountability and collaboration, while supporting the Store Manager with leadership and strategic execution to meet store goals.

Qualifications

• Lead and motivate the store team to deliver expected results.
• Demonstrate ownership of day-to-day operations and store performance.
• Ensure high standards in presentation, stock levels, and front-of-store displays.
• Collaborate with ICS and RCS clusters for inventory and rostering.
• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable service at the registers and via membership programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team and operations in the manager's absence.
• Maintain strong operational standards and timely stock deliveries.
• Oversee FOS presentation, merchandise, and promotional displays.
• Ensure health, safety and loss prevention standards are followed.
• Collaborate with hospitality and café teams to deliver service excellence.
