Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Texas to help lead daily store operations, supervise staff, and ensure an excellent customer experience. You will assist with scheduling, training, merchandising, and loss prevention while safeguarding store assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail or supervisory roles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, rotating displays, and implementing planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Ensure cash control and security practices; authorize refunds and overrides, count tills, and deposit money.
