Job summary

Kroger in Sunset, UT is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support store management in recruitment, hiring, and training while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will help maintain a safe, clean store environment, follow Customer 1st strategy, and uphold Kroger's values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity and safety as you assist with interviews, onboarding, and record keeping.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of employment law.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates and protect confidentiality of information.
• Refer associates with employment concerns to management and/or to the open-door policy.
• Communicate hiring needs and required associate training to store management.
• Keep hiring tables up-to-date and attend in-store and external job fairs as needed.
• Build and maintain hiring system requisitions.
• Schedule interviews for store and department leaders.
• Complete new hire onboarding including paperwork, I-9s, and online training.
• Enter new hire data into store systems and enroll in timekeeping.
• Distribute rewards cards, name badges, training materials, uniforms and PPE.
• Conduct store walks with new and transferred associates.
• Schedule training for new, transferred, and promoted associates (online and on-the-job).
• Follow up to ensure training occurs and assess progress.
• Maintain employee files and notices on boards and breakroom postings.
• Administer drug tests as needed with store management.
• Participate in HR conference calls.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.
