Job summary

Buddy's Home Furnishings in Pittsburg, KS is seeking a General Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales growth, and ensure safe, professional, and profitable performance. This in-person role requires oversight of staff, inventory, and customer service standards, with focus on achieving company targets.

The General Manager will implement marketing plans, train and schedule staff, and maintain financial and operational reports to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or management.
• Two years' experience in retail or other business emphasizing customer service, account management or merchandising.
• Must be over the age of 21 to drive a vehicle for work (insurance requirement).

Responsibilities

• Acquire and Maintain Customers
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes
• Implement sales and marketing programs
• Decipher, prepare and review financial statements and store reports
• Ensure adequate availability of merchandise at all times
• Fill out paperwork for submission to corporate support
• Follow monthly marketing plans
• Maintain company vehicles within safe operating standards
• Managing inventory and cash assets
• Meeting company standards for quality, customer service and safety
• Meet and exceed target sales and revenue goals
• Implementing marketing and growth plans
• Prepare daily work schedules, assign tasks, evaluate employee performance; discipline, enforce company policy and terminate when appropriate
• Provide a safe, clean environment for customers and associates
• Recruit, hire, and train to ensure efficient operations
