Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, assist customers, and operate the register to complete transactions. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store while protecting assets.

Qualified candidates possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have basic supervisory exposure. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and display merchandise; restock returned items.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide service leadership in absence of store manager.
• Operate cash register and total customer purchases; bag items; give change.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of store; establish safe environment.
