Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a flexible Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the Store Manager’s absence, deliver exemplary customer service, and help maintain plan‑of‑grams and merchandising programs.

You’ll unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, operate the register, assist customers, and keep the store clean and secure. The role emphasizes teamwork, cash control, and safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• Mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store protocol.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total customer purchases.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager.
• Authorize refunds and overrides in absence of store leadership.
• Monitor cash levels and ensure cashier accountability.
