Position Overview

Store Director for the new John Lobb flagship store in Chicago. Responsible for leadership of the store team, sales performance, client experience, inventory, merchandising, and store presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales growth and manage profit‑and‑loss for the store.
  • Design and implement the store strategy, establishing mid‑ and long‑term objectives.
  • Control expenses and inventory shortfall.
  • Identify and propose business‑development strategies to Retail Management.
  • Lead and coach staff, fostering morale, career development and performance.
  • Prepare and maintain the store budget in partnership with the Managing Director.
  • Oversee stock management, merchandising, after‑sales service, sales administration and internal controls.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets and alignment of resources with objectives.
  • Define, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including market trends and inventory control.
  • Maintain high‑quality sales as per House standards.
  • Ensure the sales team fully understands and executes the selling strategy.
  • Conduct weekly retail catch‑up meetings with KPI review and team feedback.
  • Manage inventory proactively: optimise sales, control stock accuracy, minimise shrinkage, and coordinate cycle counts and stock‑takes.
  • Welcome clients, embody the brand, and deliver exceptional service throughout the store experience.
  • Support client loyalty and development via traffic management, activation strategy, and client knowledge.
  • Maintain a strong local presence, coordinate retail events and understand local environment.
  • Provide support to staff in challenging client situations.
  • Encourage a team spirit and promote fair allocation, motivation and professional growth.
  • Ensure regular training in customer experience, product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Administer leave policies in line with company procedures.
  • Provide inspirational and motivational leadership, participate in recruitment and training of sales staff.
  • Act as the primary ambassador to customers and external parties.
  • Guarantee procedures and systems are understood, run smoothly and comply with sales activity needs.
  • Maintain store quality: oversee maintenance, renovations, and minor works.
  • Represent the brand in communications and public relations activities.
  • Update and maintain an accurate customer database.
  • Propose promotional activities and customer‑service practices.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary education and several years of retail management experience, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Experience in a luxury brand ambassador role and leading a retail team.
  • Exceptional communication and networking skills; ability to work across cultures.
  • Proactive, results‑driven with commercial creativity and organisational ability.
  • Strong business sense and solid analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency, especially MS Office; excellent digital skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Professional appearance reflecting the house’s style and elegance.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $120,500.00 – $134,500.00 annually, adjusted for experience and location.
