Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Store Designer for its Worldwide Grocery Real Estate division in Austin, TX. This role requires translating brand design standards for a large portfolio across banners, managing the design process with internal and external partners, and delivering data-driven scopes and FF&E packages.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS in architecture or interior design, 5+ years in retail design, and strong Revit skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in architecture or interior design.
• 5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience.
• Intermediate Revit skills required.

Responsibilities

• Translate brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way.
• Work across a large portfolio and multiple banners with a diverse set of programs.
• Manage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners.
• Adapt site specific conditions metrics and standards to store designs.
• Build data driven scope of work with internal stake holders, focused on servicing operating stores.
• Develop FF&E and Décor packages.
• Work with key internal and external stakeholders in the development and production of comprehensive design development packages.
• Create presentation packages to communicate design with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Drive and create Schematic Design Packages.
• Coordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts.
• Manage consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle.
• Provide Construction Administrative support as needed.
• Archive completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings.
• Obtain landlord approvals per lease requirements.
• Review and approves submittals and shop drawings .
• Demonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends
• Communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills .
• Work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment.
