Job summary

Michael Kors in New York is seeking an energetic Store Design professional to support the design and execution of new stores. You will collaborate with architects, renderers and vendors while contributing to fixture books and material schedules.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Design team in designing new stores and presentations.
• Coordinate with consultants and vendors (production architects, renderers, millwork).
• Manage the design and assembly of the Global Store Design Fixture Book, Material Schedule, and Store Design Manual.
• Maintain the Store Design CAD block library.
• Research finish materials and millwork options to save costs and keep samples up to date.
• Collaborate on new fixtures and store models; resolve schedule/cost/design issues.

Job description

What You’ll Do:

• Support the Store Design team in the process of designing new stores and shops, preparing presentations, and conducting research.
• Manage and coordinate with consultants and vendors. They include, but are not limited to, production architects, renderers, and millwork vendors.
• Manage the design and assembly of the Global Store Design Fixture Book, Material Schedule, and Store Design Manual.
• Maintain the Store Design CAD block library.
• On a continual basis, research and source alternative finish materials, millwork and store design options that will yield cost savings. Help with the upkeep of the material library and make sure all samples are update and in stock.
• Participate in the collaborative design of new fixtures and store models.
• Identify and propose solutions to resolve issues that can adversely impact project schedule, cost, or design integrity on multiple projects.

You’ll Need to Have:

• Architecture or Interior Design Experience. 0-3 years professional experience. Retail architecture/interiors experience preferred
• AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and MS Office Suite proficiency required
