Job summary

Town Pump is seeking a motivated Store Deli Manager to join our team. You will assist the store manager with supervisory decisions, control costs, and lead deli operations with a focus on quality and safety.

You will conduct employee orientation and training, maintain inventories, and ensure sanitation and product quality. A valid driver’s license and ServSafe certification (possible waiver) are required to support operations and customer service.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification may be required (waiver possible by Deli Operations Manager).
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervisory decisions; manage controllable expenses and inventory.
• Model professionalism and teamwork in customer service and deli operations.
• Conduct new employee orientation and training; document performance.
• Perform daily walk-throughs; prioritize, organize and follow up tasks.
• Maintain inventories; order deli merchandise and achieve favorable metrics.
• Maintain deli equipment; follow sanitation procedures and food safety standards.
• Prepare deli items and cook heated items as required; promote kitchen safety.
• Check in vendors, verify orders, and manage product rotation and expiry dates.
• Ensure correct PLUs, and monitor for mis-picks or broken merchandise.

As a Store Deli Manager, You Will

• assist the store manager in supervisory decisions that are consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures. Assist in planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up with controllable expenses, sales expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls.
• set an exemplary example for co-workers in terms of professionalism, attitude, and teamwork in the areas of customer service and Convenience Store Operations.
• conduct new employee orientation and training. Promote continued development of all employees and objectively document performance and conduct evaluations.
• conduct daily walk-throughs; effectively prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow-up on tasks to be accomplished.
• maintain accurate inventories, order, and maintain deli merchandise, and achieve favorable deli metrics.
• conduct maintenance in the deli area, including basic preventative maintenance and repairs of deli equipment. Follow all sanitation procedures, and maintain the highest quality standards in food preparation. Prepare deli items and cook heated items as required. Promote kitchen and store safety.
• check in deli vendors, cross-check orders, and check items by line number. Put away the order once received, and watch for miss-picks, wrong pack sizes, and broken/open merchandise. Maintain PLUs, and print list for tills.
• keep product rotated, and fresh, and check expiration dates. Remove and discard unauthorized products.
• be required to complete and pass ServSafe certification (may be waived by Deli Operations Manager), and have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
