Job summary

Goodwill Southeast Georgia is seeking a Store Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers, donors, and associates. This role supports the store's appearance and our mission by ensuring neat and inviting spaces throughout our retail locations.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors and restrooms, restocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. A six-month custodial background and dependable work ethic help you thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Six months custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, tools, and equipment.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
• Dependable work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a consistent, high-quality cleaning experience throughout the store.
• Sweep and mop floors and sanitize restrooms.
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and clean containers as needed.
• Dust and clean dressing rooms, store fixtures, office desks, furniture, and common surfaces.
• Clean windowsills and interior windows.
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and paper products and restock assigned areas as needed.
• Demonstrate proper safety practices and follow Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives.

The Store Custodian plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers, donors, and associates. Your Typical Day

What You’ll Need

• Six (6) months of custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, tools, and equipment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate positively and professionally with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Dependable work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
