Job description

We are so much more than a Parts Store and we are looking for even more great talent to join our NAPA family! As a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are seen as the “face of the retail store” and the go-to person when customers enter our stores for automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear down and rebuild engines (though that’s a plus), but a background in automotive parts is essential.

What you will be doing:

1. Providing auto parts solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
2. Using your parts knowledge to assist team members and answer customer questions.
3. Delivering outstanding customer care and positive interactions.
4. Bringing customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced environment.
5. Welcoming customers and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
6. Utilizing technology, including computers, cash registers, and catalogs.

This is the right opportunity if you:

1. Enjoy helping customers with auto parts and service questions.
2. Have automotive industry experience or have gained experience by repairing or tinkering with vehicles.
3. Are willing to learn all things automotive if you lack experience.
4. Seek growth opportunities within a team environment.

What you’ll need:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn.
• High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Enjoy fast-paced retail environments.
• Good listening skills and empathy for customers.

And if you have these, even better (not a deal breaker):

• Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership industries.
• Experience in a parts store, auction, auto body, or collision shop.
• Knowledge of cataloging or inventory management systems.
• Customer-centric mindset.
• ASE Certifications.
