Job summary

The Salvation Army store in Glasgow, KY is seeking a part-time associate to support daily store operations. You will ring up sales, assist customers, and process donated items for display in a warehouse setting. The role includes maintaining clean displays and securing cash register areas and items.

Job Details:

Job Location: KT-Barren County Thrift Store - Glasgow, KY 42141, Salary Range: $12.00 Hourly, Job Category: Store, Schedule/Hours:25 Hours per week

This position is responsible for:

Assists store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customers’ questions; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays; ensures the security of store items and the cash register. Receives, sorts, and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines their suitability based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists customers purchasing items from The Salvation Army by ringing up sales utilizing a cash register; collects monies, counts change, and prepares receipts; prepares and packages purchased items; prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register printouts; ensures the security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records by established operating procedures.
• Receives, inspects, and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brack, etc., according to the category and condition.
• Maintains the neatness and security of the cash register area; ensures that forms, bags, etc., are adequately stocked.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-75lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
