Job summary

USG is seeking a Storeroom/Inventory Assistant to oversee the plant storeroom daily, ensuring safe and efficient operations. You will procure parts, manage inventory, and support work requests while keeping accurate records in Oracle and EAM.

The role requires effective communication with PMCs and maintenance staff, reliability, and the ability to work independently. Forklift certification is required; Department: Engineering; Day shift from USG facilities in Oregon.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant maintenance is preferred.
• Strong communication with PMCs and maintenance personnel is required.
• Administrative skills including basic computer use (Word, Excel, EAM) are essential.
• Reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently.
• Excellent organization and time-management to meet deadlines.
• Forklift certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily storeroom operations for safe, efficient plant activity.
• Follow and support all plant policies, practices, and safety rules.
• Procure parts and supplies to maintain storeroom inventory.
• Perform daily tasks: cycle counts, work requests, inventory DB management, storeroom management, and parts picking/delivery.
• Receive shipments, verify orders against packing receipts, and inspect for damage.
• Maintain records in Oracle and EAM and communicate with plant personnel and vendors.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities:

• Daily oversight of the plant storeroom functions to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Know, follow, and support all plant policies, practices, and safety rules.
• Procurement of parts and other supplies needed to maintain an optimum storeroom inventory.
• Fulfill daily tasks including inventory cycle counts, work request submission, inventory database management, storeroom management, picking/delivering parts from work orders, parts ordering, and maintaining EAM vendor listings, and training of plant associates on Storeroom aspects of RPM.
• Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks, open boxes, crates, shipping containers, move items into and around warehouse and/or storeroom, verify orders placed against packing receipts, check for damage, accept or reject complete or partial shipments.
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping in Oracle and EAM.
• Maintain effective communication with plant personnel and vendors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience within the plant maintenance function is strongly preferred.
• Must have a communication style that allows for effective communication with PMCs and maintenance personnel.
• Must possess general administrative skills., including basic computer aptitude (Word, Excel, EAM).
• Must be reliable, self-motivated, and possess a proven ability to work independently.
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and discipline in performing administrative duties to ensure deadlines are met or exceeded.
• Become certified forklift operator.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
