Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is hiring a Family Store Associate to provide excellent customer service, operate and balance the cash register, and maintain a clean, secure store environment. You will assist customers with purchases, donations, and inquiries, while helping to display merchandise and ensure smooth POS operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Retail store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Operates cash register, accepts payment and makes change; wraps or bags merchandise.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawer; assist in preparing bank deposits as requested.
• Maintain sales and production rotation quotas.
• Price unmarked items of merchandise.
• Clean shelves, counters or tables.
• Follows through on outdating as instructed.
• Help set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Maintain good customer relations with prompt, courteous assistance.
• Maintain neatness and security of the cash register area.
• Assist customers donating items.
• Place and arrange items in the store as directed.
• Answer the telephone professionally and courteously.
• Keep store clean and inviting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
