The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Family Store Associate to provide excellent customer service, operate and maintain a cash register, and keep the store clean, orderly, and secure.

Key duties include assisting customers at the POS, balancing the cash drawer, maintaining quotas, pricing merchandise, and supporting display setup. Flexibility and basic computer skills are valued for a smooth daily operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience

Responsibilities

• Assist customers purchasing items via the POS system.
• Operates cash register, accepting payment and making change.
• Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawer; assist in preparing bank deposits as requested.
• Maintain sales and production rotation quotas
• Price unmarked items of merchandise
• Clean shelves, counters, or tables
• Follow through on outdating as instructed
• Help set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales
• Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area
• Assist customers who are donating items
• Place and arrange items in the store as directed
• Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner
• Ensure that the store is maintained in a clean and inviting manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Will have keys to the store and be responsible for opening and closing the store as needed.
