Job Description: Store Associate

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are also responsible for promptly resolving customer concerns, ensuring maximum client satisfaction, staying updated on product features, and maintaining high standards of product quality and store presentation. The role involves delivering excellent customer service while meeting sales goals.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
2. Assisting customers in person and over the phone by identifying needs and presenting appropriate products and services
3. Building productive trust relationships with customers
4. Processing sales transactions accurately according to policies
5. Achieving sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
6. Maintaining accurate work order files and formulas
7. Pulling products from the sales floor or warehouse
8. Tinting and mixing products as per customer specifications
9. Stocking shelves and setting up displays
10. Cleaning store equipment
11. Assisting with deliveries when needed
12. Keeping areas in-stock and presentable
13. Staying knowledgeable about products and discussing options with customers
14. Following inventory control procedures
15. Suggesting sales improvements

Minimum requirements include:

• Being at least 18 years old
• Legal authorization to work without sponsorship
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred qualifications:

• Valid, unrestricted Driver's License
• High School diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles
• Experience selling paint and related products
• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
• Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish
