Base pay range

$15.50/hr - $16.00/hr

Summary

Under the supervision of the Retail Store Manager or Department Head, engages customers and offers assistance in finding products in the store. Store Associates are responsible for stocking, merchandising, and cleaning their assigned department or store location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Welcoming customers and assisting in locating products.
2. Providing customer service over the phone.
3. Suggesting products to customers for their projects and explaining their proper uses.
4. Using vendor catalogues and websites to locate special order items.
5. Creating customer orders accurately in the Epicor system and following up on them.
6. Transferring stock from back-stock areas to the sales floor.
7. Stocking shelves with products.
8. Assisting customers in other departments when needed.
9. Performing tasks assigned by Store Manager or Department Head.
10. Carrying out customer service tasks such as mixing paint, cutting keys, etc.
11. Fronting, facing, and straightening products throughout the day.
12. Rotating perishable stock.
13. Cleaning the assigned department or store, including sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
14. Merchandising products to promote sales.
15. Reporting pricing errors, stock shortages, customer complaints, or other issues.
16. Cleaning and organizing back-stock areas.
17. Collaborating with colleagues as needed.
18. Expanding product knowledge through training and listening to coworkers.

Other duties may be assigned as needed. Management reserves the right to reassign roles for efficiency.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED, or 6 months to 1-year related experience/training, or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read, interpret safety and operating instructions, write routine reports, and communicate effectively.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.

Physical Demands

Regular use of hands, reaching, talking, walking; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping; lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Exposed to outside weather, fumes, and noise. Reasonable accommodations available.
