JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER

DEPARTMENT: RETAIL

STATUS: FULL-TIME

SALARY: $18.00 / hour

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: STORE MANAGER

MISSION STATEMENT

POSITION OBJECTIVES
  1. Partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
  2. Manage store personnel and cash handling in the Manager's absence.
  3. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to meet sales and profitability targets.
  4. Create a positive environment for ARC rehabilitation program participants through collaboration with staff.
  5. Implement and oversee Work Therapy Assignments to support participant progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience, preferably in thrift stores.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Valid Driver's license, ability to pass MVR, and access to a vehicle.
  • Background check clearance including criminal and sex offender registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assist Store Manager with daily operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
  2. Take responsibility for store operations in the Manager's absence.
  3. Monitor performance metrics to drive sales and profit.
  4. Coordinate staff schedules and payroll records.
  5. Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  6. Maintain high customer and donor satisfaction and community relations.
  7. Support back room processing and warehouse operations.
  8. Supervise and report on program beneficiaries involved in Work Therapy.
  9. Ensure security of store assets, including cash, inventory, and property.
  10. Maintain safety protocols and report incidents promptly.
  11. Participate in store safety and staff meetings.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned, including potential transfers to other stores.
