Job Description

The Store Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, staff management, and store profitability. The ideal candidate has retail passion, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to managing a busy convenience store.

Responsibilities

1. Customer Service & Store Environment: Greet and assist customers, resolve complaints, ensure cleanliness and safety, monitor service standards.
2. Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, training, delegate tasks, provide coaching, maintain schedules.
3. Operations & Inventory Control: Manage inventory, conduct stock checks, handle product rotation and quality control, enforce store policies.
4. Sales & Financial Performance: Promote products, help meet sales goals, handle cash, assist with budgets.
5. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure legal and safety standards, conduct inspections, support safety protocols.
6. Reporting & Administration: Assist with payroll, reports, maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years retail or convenience store management experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business a plus.

Skills & Abilities

• Leadership, team building, communication, customer service focus.
• Ability to handle difficult situations calmly, organizational skills, proficiency with POS and inventory software.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, reach, climb ladders, work in cold environments, handle emergency situations, work alone as needed.
