Job summary

Steve Madden in Maryland seeks a Store Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily store operations and to lead a brand-driven team delivering exceptional customer experiences.

You will drive merchandising, training, inventory management, and loss prevention while ensuring schedules and store standards. This is a full-time role requiring 3–5 years of retail experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of retail experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, resources, and services to address business goals and needs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
• Understanding of how to develop staff with experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, etc.
• Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system

• Be flexible and occasionally perform work outside your specific role.

The Store Assistant Manager is responsible for working with the Store Manager on all store operations.
