Position: Assistant Store Manager - $17.50 per hour

Position Description

The Store Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, and maintaining store profitability. The ideal candidate will have a passion for retail, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to managing a busy convenience store.

Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service & Store Environment: Greet and assist customers, resolve complaints, maintain cleanliness and safety, monitor service standards.
  2. Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, training, onboarding, delegate tasks, oversee staff schedules, provide coaching and feedback.
  3. Operations & Inventory Control: Manage inventory, conduct stock checks, ensure proper handling, enforce policies.
  4. Sales & Financial Performance: Promote products, help achieve sales goals, monitor cash handling, support budget management.
  5. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure legal compliance, conduct inspections, support safety initiatives.
  6. Reporting & Administration: Assist with payroll, staffing reports, inventory records, prepare performance reports, maintain documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years retail or convenience store management experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service focus, organizational skills, multitasking ability.
  • Proficient in POS systems, MS Word, Excel, inventory management software.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., work in cold environments, handle cash, operate registers, perform physical tasks, work alone if needed.
