Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability and willingness to learn the technical requirements of the job.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and make quick, sound decisions.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Have the ability to travel as required.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Asset Protection Department in shrink reduction activity and audits.
• Develop knowledge of criminal justice system and related laws.
• Maintain relationships with local police and court systems.
• Complete and maintain accurate reports and files.
• Meet store averages for shoplifting apprehensions and deterrence.
• Detect, apprehend and deter shoplifters following guidelines and law.
• Make court appearances as needed for prosecutions.
• Be proficient in CCTV and asset protection technologies.
• Maintain confidentiality of investigations.
• Assist Regional Asset Protection Manager in training new Coordinators.
• Perform other duties as assigned; meet physical requirements.
• Must maintain NY State security license or obtain one if required.
