Reporting to the Store Manager, the Store Administration Head is responsible for performing as Duty Manager of night shift and providing administrative support to the store. Managing the performance of store admin and receiving teams and delivering other duties as assigned by the superior(s) by cooperating with all relevant internal & external stakeholders.
T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store and recently announced the first store location in the United States. Our growth into the US offers great opportunities within our first US flagship store, set to open in 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria, spanning 76,000 sq.ft. and will stand as the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state.
We have additional plans for growth and will also be establishing a regional office in the greater Los Angeles area to grow T&T Supermarket’s vendor base with American food suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the performance of the store receiving to ensure KPIs and standards are met with Company’s requirement.
- Assume the responsibilities as the duty manager of night shift, as well as the day shift as required.
- Perform routine checks in sales floor, backroom, receiving, front end, & outside area and complete all related checklists and logs.
- Ensure merchandising & quality meet standards by checking product display fullness/freshness on shelves, in coolers, and freezers, POPs facing etc.
- Ensure store cleanliness is well maintained in all areas.
- Fully execute store opening and closing procedures. Ensure relevant service/equipment are ready for business or properly disconnected.
- Deliver excellent & positive customer service by proactively resolving and following up on customer complaints.
- Liaise and cooperate with internal and external departments including Regional Office, Mall Management, store tenants, suppliers, janitorial services, and government bodies as required.
- Follow-up on store repair & maintenance issues and coordinate with technicians.
Food Safety
- Inspect all departments to ensure temperature checks are performed timely and logs are properly recorded.
- Check department execution of cleaning/sanitization to meet standards.
- Work closely with third-party service providers to follow up on pest activities.
Colleague Safety
- Liaise with HR and third-party consultants to follow up on injury cases.
- Host in-store safety meetings and inspections.
- Provide advice and guidance to Department Heads on safety issues and modified duties.
Customer Safety
- Respond effectively to customer incidents, conduct investigations, and document details.
- Follow up with concerned parties professionally to mitigate impact.
Crisis Management & Loss Prevention
- Assist in loss prevention efforts with Security.
- Handle emergency incidents following proper procedures.
Deliver other duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge in controlling profit and loss, data interpretation, and market information.
- Understanding of workplace health & safety standards.
- Basic to good computer skills in MS Office.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) is an asset.
- Flexible to work shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies or high-pressure situations.
