Storage Software Engineer-C++/Java/File Systems/Lustre

Join to apply for the Storage Software Engineer-C++/Java/File Systems/Lustre role at Oracle.

We are seeking experienced engineers passionate about solving complex problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. This role offers the opportunity to design, build, and operate innovative systems at scale, impacting enterprise-level features.

These are in-office positions located in downtown Seattle and Santa Clara, with remote options for candidates with extensive Lustre or Linux filesystem/Kernel experience.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of experience in Cloud Storage, with a strong background in C/C++, Java, and Python. Expertise in public cloud offerings (OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure) and high-throughput I/O architectures like DAOS/SPDK is advantageous.

Additional desirable skills include knowledge of RMDA, high-performance networking, AI/ML frameworks, data structures, algorithms, and Linux system administration, especially with Lustre filesystems in large-scale environments. A Bachelor’s in Computer Science is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and product management to define requirements for OCI storage products.
• Contribute to system design and architecture, and develop proof of concepts.
• Mentor junior engineers, review code, and write test automation.
• Focus on simplicity, scalability, and working in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale, highly available cloud storage systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Java, and Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms and high-performance I/O architectures is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking, AI/ML frameworks, data structures, algorithms, and Linux system administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Additional Information

US salary range: $79,800 - $178,100 annually, with potential bonuses and equity. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.
