Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in North Carolina is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Storage) to design and build Go microservices and Kubernetes controllers for the Alletra storage platform. The role combines hands-on development with system architecture across Linux networking and data-center infrastructure.

You will optimize for reliability in distributed environments, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with storage, platform and cloud teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
Typically 10+ years of experience building production software.
Experience designing distributed or infrastructure systems.
Strong programming in Go and C/C++ (Java as optional).
Hands-on Kubernetes development including controllers/operators.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops and owns Go microservices and Kubernetes controllers for cluster networking.
Develops host-level Linux networking software for IPv4/IPv6 access.
Automates configuration and lifecycle management of data-center switches.
Packages and distributes software and container images for installs and upgrades.
Designs highly available services that tolerate partial failures.
Reviews designs and code for correctness and testability.
Mentors junior team members and drives best practices.
