Job summary

The Simplot Company is seeking a Stockroom Clerk to support the shift by distributing parts, updating inventory, receiving shipments, and assisting in returns and shipping for non-manufacturing materials. This role requires basic math, strong organization, and good communication.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, familiarity with computer systems, and prior experience in a processing environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work under deadlines is expected.

Responsibilities

• Distribute items from the stock room to employees accurately.
• Receive and account for daily shipments.
• Update inventory count in software when each part is distributed.
• Perform counts and notify supervisor for reorder.
• Maintain data in system for accuracy and completeness.
• Inspect incoming goods for damage and match to PO.
• Assist in returns to vendors and shipping for non-manufacturing materials.
• Keep stock room orderly and assist supervisor with inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Stockroom Clerk ensures the distribution of parts, equipment, uniforms and personal protective equipment to employees of a specific shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately distributes items from the stock room to employees
• Receives and accounts for daily shipments
• Updates inventory count in software when each part is distributed
• Performs counts, notifies Stockroom Supervisor for reorder of items
• Maintains data in JDE for accuracy and completeness
• Inspects for damage of incoming goods, ensures item count is correct and match PO
• Assists in the returns process to vendors
• Assists in shipping process for Non Manufacturing Related Material
• Maintains stock room in an orderly manner
• Assist the Stockroom Supervisor with parts room inventory
• Performs other duties as assigned

Typical Education

Other Information

• Able to read and comprehend Bill of Ladings, Manifests, Receiving Records and inventory records.
• Able to write required information on Purchase Order Requests, Receiving Records and Bill of Ladings.
• Able to apply basic math skills when writing and editing purchase order requests and receiving records, checking shipments against Manifests, performing inventory counts and calculating weights for materials.
• Able to effectively communicate on the phone with and in person with customers, vendors, supervisors, employees and maintenance personnel.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work with detailed information.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Able to learn to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and support groups.
