Job summary

The Simplot Company is seeking a Packaging Lead to oversee daily packaging operations and mentor the packaging crew in a high-volume facility in Pasco, WA. You will help maintain safety, coordinate with other departments, and drive packaging efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, and experience with MS Office. The role requires the ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments, lead a team, and perform under pressure.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Good knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Summary

The Packaging Lead leads the daily operation of the packaging crew and equipment in a multi-line packaging department. The individual assists in the training of packaging department personnel on equipment operations and other packaging procedures. This person oversees the safety of the employees and the safe operation of the machines in the packaging department.

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.
• Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting).
• Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and proper manner.
• Must be able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrels weighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling device.
• Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
• Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE, includes but not limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and face shield or goggles.
