Position Title: Stockroom Clerk I

Department: Stockroom

Location: Santa Ana, CA

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Full- Time

Job Summary

The Stockroom Clerk I is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the stockroom. This entry-level position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory control and supports production and shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and inspect incoming materials and components, ensuring documentation matches defense contract requirements.
• Accurately label and store materials in accordance with DFARS and ITAR regulations and internal procedures.
• Issue parts and assemblies to production based on manufacturing orders and bills of material.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records within ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar).
• Ensure materials are properly segregated and identified to preserve lot and serial traceability.
• Support compliance with internal and external audits, including documentation and inventory tracking.
• Adhere to safety standards and company policies regarding the handling of sensitive and controlled items.
• Maintain clean, organized stockroom areas and perform routine cycle counts.
• Communicate discrepancies or damaged goods immediately to supervisor for proper resolution.
• Pull and assemble components and materials according to work orders or kit lists for production (kitting).
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and lot numbers during the kitting process to ensure accuracy.
• Label and package kits appropriately for delivery to production or staging areas.
• Perform de-kitting by disassembling completed or unused kits and returning parts to stock with proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records during both kitting and de-kitting activities.
• Report shortages, damaged parts, or discrepancies to the inventory or production supervisor.
• Ensure kits are prepared in compliance with production schedules and quality standards.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of kitting area and stockroom shelves.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and company protocols when handling materials.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 0–1 year of warehouse or stockroom experience preferred.
• Basic math and data entry skills required.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Regular standing, walking, and use of hands to handle or feel objects.
• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment (exposure to moderate noise, dust, and varying temperatures).
