Position Overview

Lead the operation of a high-volume stockroom supporting the Don James Center Training Table and Athletics Production Kitchen, facilitating daily culinary operations for UW Intercollegiate Athletics dining services. This role provides nutritious meals and programming to meet the needs of UW athletes and teams.

Responsibilities
  1. Receive, issue, store, and inventory supplies in accordance with policies for both the Training Table and Kitchen.
  2. Monitor stock movement, estimate future needs, and coordinate orders.
  3. Manage inventory assets, including proper tagging as per state procedures.
  4. Plan and organize work, including coordinating with multiple food service platforms.
  5. Act as primary contact for vendors and delivery personnel.
  6. Supervise student employees and food service workers in receiving and storing goods.
  7. Fulfill requisitions from dining platforms.
  8. Store merchandise properly, rotate stock, and ensure labels face outward.
  9. Ensure compliance with policies regarding receipt and inventory.
  10. Maintain records and conduct periodic physical inventories.
  11. Weigh stock sold by weight.
  12. Use a UW vehicle for transporting products as needed.
  13. Rearrange stock and move equipment using hand dollies and pallet jacks.
  14. Maintain stockroom cleanliness and dispose of surplus materials.
  15. Input data into CBORD FSS system and generate reports.
  16. Perform inventory counts and other duties as assigned.
Position Details

This role involves lifting and working in hot and cold environments, requiring knowledge of proper food storage and handling based on appearance, expiration, and temperature.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of full-time experience in retail, shipping, receiving, warehouse work, or similar roles.
Conditions of Employment
  • Satisfactory background check and education verification.
  • Possession of a Washington State Food Worker’s Card within two weeks of employment, maintained thereafter.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
