Qualifications

• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for small parts and wires.
• Baseline knowledge of soldering, wire prepping (cutting/stripping), and crimping techniques.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings, wiring schematics, and follow structured instructions.
• High concentration to ensure correct wire lengths, pin placements, and clean crimps.

Responsibilities

• Wire Preparation: Measure, cut, strip, and prep wires and cables per SOPs.
• Soldering & Tin: Perform solder tinning and light soldering for secure connections.
• Component Crimping: Use crimping tools to attach connectors to wires.
• Mechanical Assembly: Assemble wire harnesses and cable systems accurately.
• Quality Inspection: Visually inspect assemblies to ensure workmanship quality.

Job Summary

We are seeking a precise and detail-oriented Stockroom / Cable Assembly Associate to join our 1st-shift manufacturing team in Urbana, Ohio. In this role, you will work directly in the cable assembly area, preparing wires, components, and hardware for final production. This position is an excellent fit for individuals who enjoy hands-on, intricate work, possess strong manual dexterity, and take pride in building high-quality electrical and mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Wire Preparation: Measure, cut, strip, and prep raw wires and cables according to standard operating procedures.
• Soldering & Tinning: Perform precise wire prep tasks, including solder tinning on wire ends and light component soldering to ensure secure, high-conductive connections.
• Component Crimping: Utilize manual and automated terminal crimping tools to attach connectors to prepared wires.
• Mechanical Assembly: Assemble wire harnesses, cable systems, and related stockroom components neatly and accurately.
• Quality Inspection: Visually inspect completed wire and cable assemblies to ensure they meet quality workmanship standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Hand-Eye Coordination: Excellent manual dexterity for handling small parts, tools, and fine wires.
• Technical Familiarity: Prior experience or baseline knowledge of soldering, wire prepping (cutting/stripping), and crimping techniques is highly preferred.
• Trainability: Ability to follow basic technical drawings, wiring schematics, and structured verbal instructions.
